In a nutshell, U3A is a learning co-operative for "Third Agers" (retired people). Its objective is to be a university in the original sense of the word - a community of teachers and learners - sharing interests and enthusiasms.  It has been found that there is a very real need for accessible and stimulating opportunities at the stage in life when people have a little more free time for self-development.

U3A Pretoria is a very active group of retired persons that goes from strength to strength.

2008 started with a membership of 330.

Quarterly meetings are held at the Brooklyn Methodist Church in Murray Street.

Our next Meeting of Members will be held at

9:15 for 10:00 on Thursday 30 July

At the Brooklyn Methodist Church, 209 Murray Street, Brooklyn

Our guest speaker will be Professor Ansie Harding, Department of Mathematics, the University of Pretoria who, amongst other attributes, has developed talks on the fun aspects of Mathematics for both grown-ups and kids.

The title of her talk will be "Mathematics and Fairy Tales"
