Tswaing Crater Trail ±40km north of Pretoria. Cost: (contact leader) The trail runs along the crest of the crater rim before it zig-zags down a wooded slope to the crater floor and a small lake. Returns via an old wagon route. Book by 3rd Sept. |
09h00 at Crater Reception. From N1 take the Rustenburg (N4) off-ramp (Bakwena Platinum Toll Road). After 17 km, take M80 Soshanguve exit. At 16 km the freeway stops at a 3-way intersection - turn right towards M35/Soutpan. At T-junction go left on M35 (Soutpan Rd.). Drive on for about 15km past some informal settlements. Turn left at brown tourist signs (2,7 km beyond Coca-Cola sign) into gravel road leading to main gate. |
