Peter Lawson runs this course at his home in Wynberg on Thursday afternoons. The complete course comprises three modules, two of which have been completed. However, there are a few places left on the final module, which will be run twice in early 2012:
3A. Six sessions - February 2 to March 8. Play
Your Cards Right.
This
module deals
with declarer play, establishing and then building on basic principles.
Subjects covered include planning the play, establishing long suits,
ducking, holding-up, avoidance, ruffing finesses, dummy reversal,
drawing the final trump, counting unseen hands, safety and percentage
plays etc.
More errors are made by
declarer at trick one than any other, and we explore practical methods
of analysing
each deal in order to arrive at the best line of play. Elimination
plays and squeezes are not covered. A list of
precepts is provided at the end of the course, and participants can
obtain a free copy of the software and data files used in the
presentation.
3B. A further course of six sessions, repeating Play Your Cards Right, will be run from March 15 to April 19.
Each session runs from 14h00 to 16h00 with a 15-minute
refreshment
break, and costs R5. Numbers are limited, so if you
wish to
attend either of the above modules please e-mail Peter at
lawsonp@telkomsa.net to reserve your place.
