THE BLAAUWBERG BRANCH of U3A
The Blaauwberg Branch was launched on 28 April 2009. Our General Meetings are scheduled to be held on the last Tuesday of every month at 10h30 in the Milnerton Library Auditorium in Pienaar Road. Tea is served from 9h45 to 10h20. Members are encouraged to attend the General Meetings, where they will be kept up to date about the “business” side of U3A, as well as having the opportunity of meeting fellow members. The highlight of the General Meeting is a talk or a presentation by an eminent speaker. We are very privileged that so many outstanding speakers, many world-renowned, are willing to volunteer their valuable time to address us..
We are a non-profit organisation and costs are kept to an absolute minimum. Our annual fee is a nominal R30 per person. The entrance fee for General Meetings is R5 for members and R10 for visitors, and includes refreshments. Course fees range from R5 to R10 per session, unless otherwise stipulated. All fees charged are used to defray expenses incurred. Registered members may attend any of the courses, including those run by other U3A branches. They are also entitled to attend meetings and courses of any U3A group in the country.
Details of the current study groups and activities are available on request. Feedback, ideas and suggestions from members are very welcome.
