How many fathers wish they had thought of this clever solution to a problem?

HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

by ‘A RELIEVED FATHER’

Many of us have children living overseas, and we all like to have them with us for
Christmas.

Dad phones his son in Sydney,to tell him the bad news. “Thought I’d better let you
know that your mother and I are divorcing after 45 years. We’re both pretty upset
right now, so you’d better phone your sister and explain.”

Son phones his sister, and after much discussion, they decide that the only thing to
do is to come to South Africa at Christmas to talk some sense into the parents. Son
phones his father to tell him.

Father puts down the phone and turns to his wife, saying, “There, my dear, it’s all
organised ... the children are coming over for Christmas,

and …

THEY'RE PAYING FOR THEIR OWN TICKETS!!”
